We invite you to join us for a spring mountain retreat in the wilds of West Virginia. For two days and nights we will gather around the table and the fire to cook, eat, and learn together. During this retreat we will delve deeply into technical aspects of cooking, while showing how good health is created from a foundation of using the right ingredients with the right intention.
Evrim Doğu, co-owner of Sub Rosa Bakery, will teach simple, traditional methods for bread making, from natural leavening to working with regional, freshly milled flours as well as primary cooking techniques he has learned from his Turkish culinary heritage.
Shelly Rose, nutritionist and owner of Pure Roots Nutrition, will guide fireside talks about strengthening our health and wellbeing. Shelly will place the food that we make and eat into a holistic framework that focuses on building a foundation for healthy, daily practices in the home kitchen and beyond.
