Shelly Rose founded Pure Roots Nutrition in 2011, a company dedicated to helping people implement a more joy-filled, vibrant life through real food, movement, stress relief, meaningful connection, purpose, time spent in nature, and a good night’s sleep.

After earning a Nutrition and Culinary Arts bachelor’s degree from leading natural health institute Bastyr University, she attended Quillisascut’s Sustainable Kitchen Farm Culinary School, completed an internship at Seattle’s FareStart, and volunteered with PCC Natural Markets and The Root Connection Farm.

She has worked in medical practices alongside Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) specializing in food sensitivities, chronic conditions, and incorporating meal plans, culinary skills, and lifestyle changes into patient care plans. While working independently as a consultant today, Shelly still actively partners in client/patient care with like-minded integrative, functional and naturopathic medicine healthcare providers. Above all, Shelly provides ongoing accountability, structure, guidance, problem solving, and the encouragement needed to implement on your plan, realize results, and sustain healthy habits to keep them.

When Shelly isn’t teaching, you’ll likely find her traveling, on her yoga mat, practicing breath-based meditation, and almost always outside: hiking, camping, trail running, paddling, mountain biking, or just joy riding in search of picnic/outdoor book nooks along the river. She’s happiest with a warm drink in hand, listening to piano, reading the latest health research, or napping in a hammock.
