Your classic non-dairy, homemade, chai tea latte with an extra punch of turmeric. Or a turmeric latte meets a chai latte. However you see it, let's get some more turmeric in our bodies, shall we? This simple drink is a tasty, warming, therapeutic treat, especially in the winter. It's grounding, nourishing, and has all the spices to help soothe inflammation.

  • Prep: 5 mins
  • Yields: 1 12 oz servings

Ingredients

small amount of boiling water

3 bags of chai tea or 1 TBS loose leaf

10 oz. unsweetened almond coconut milk

drizzle of local honey, to taste

1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract

1/4 tsp ground turmeric

Directions

1Bring a tea kettle to boil with a few ounces of water. Place the chai tea bags in a mug and pour over boiled water just enough to cover bags, 2 oz. Steep for 5-8 minutes to make a tea concentrate. Smush with a spoon and remove bags.

2Meanwhile, in a small sauce pan, add all remaining ingredients, whisk, and bring to a gentle simmer.

3Pour milk into mug with chai tea and enjoy.

Omit the honey to make this sugar cleanse-friendly.
